Taken at night... spot light on the mailman... I know the subject is a single tree as the main subject... but it wouldnt have been the same without the mailman statue.

the only editing was with the contrast being increased by 30.

Highlights are washed out and the tree is blurred.

A lot of blown out areas. Looks like you held the shutter open to long. Also some fringing going on around the postman.

The light is so freaky white, that it looks like he's about to get beamed up to the "mothership" :D

I like the idea here and thought it was actually a living person. Your picture has a smalltown persona and it makes me want to see what else is going on. The moon is a nice touch.

The first thing that captures my attention here is the postman - your main subject should be the tree. Perhaps another angle (if possible) would help. The light on the postman is a bit overposed and it stands out against a black background. The green in the house in background also stands out; I would reduce your F-stop as much as you can to blur the background. Since this was advanced editing you could do that in PS or another program.

the light is way too harsh. I don't think the post guy adds to the pic, in fact with so much light on him, he's distracting.

Great photo, I like how you took a chance and came up with something that stands out from the rest.

lighting is very harsh on the mailman, and he appears to be the subject

moonlight and harsh light postal man? not sure if the postal man is supposed to feel like santa with the green and colours of building in background. man with harshlight is more the subject than the tree. could you put a mailbox inside the spanse of tree where there don't appear to be many branches and kill some of the light/glare? lol...gl in challenge and 5 for having a tree in the shot...:-)

Should have metered for the foreground...overexposed.

Looks like a peaceful night too. The postman always knocks that late? ;-)

Nice idea but the highlights are blown out. Focus on the postman could have been sharper.
