tones are rather flat - nice composition (and yes, it was hard to find a single tree but you did!)

... but you succeeded. And you did very well. One of the best shots here. Great colors and light. I love the road crossing the shot. Calm and soft atmosphere.

looks like you found one well enough! if you think it's hard to find a single tree where you are, try finding one in vermont!

this photo has several strong elements. the tree is an interesting subject, and you've composed it well - it's quite prominent, but not so big that the image feels crowded.

the major crit i have is that the sky is so grey. there's not enough contrast between the tree and the sky. a bit of levels adjustments might have helped; also, some careful burning on the tree & dodging of the sky (especially near the horizon) would have added some drama.

Nice, but just a tad too dark. As for the title, are they all dating or married? LOL! :)

I gree that to find a single tree is HARD. Not keen on the sepia clour here, for my two bobs worth black and white would have been better.

it would have been cool to see more of the road leading us to the the tree.
There are many similar pics in this challenge and yet even without more of the road i still like yours 7.

Other than the clouds' white, there is no highlight, so the duotone leaves us feeling a little flat. I like the composition and the road.

Very lovely photo and choice of tones. The whole composition is great. I only wish it was a little bit on the brighter side. I'm viewing this with a superbright laptop monitor and I know that it is way brighter than it should be - yet your photo still comes over as being a little darker than it need be. 8.

Classic composition. I like that you used monotone to unify the image. My only objection is that it appears a bit too dark overall on my monitor.

On my calibrated monitor, this is too dark. Otherwise a worthy photo.
