Critique Club Review:
Color saturation and hue are very good. Focus and depth of field are excellent. I really like your use of depth of field to isolate the subject from the rest of the picture.
I would have liked a little more light/detail at base of the tree. Not much, because I like the contrast. But just a little because the longer I look at the picture, the dark area starts turning into a hole in the photograph. And in the end the contrast of the darkness at the bottom and the background, starts to compete with the tree itself.
The tree and base appear a little oversharpened to my eye. The edges of the leaves on the left are starting to get halos.
Overall a very nice photo that I enjoyed. |

Nice pic. I suspect it's a tiny bit oversharpened, but I think that is probably due to using the wrong sharpening settings for 640x480. Pics are a lot more sensitive to sharpening at this resolution.
One thing that I find helps prevent the data loss and subsequent need for strong sharpening in small sizes is using multiple steps for reducing size. I don't know if you did this or not, but if you didn't, you might want to look into it. |

Your photographic capture of this tree is amazing. The pedestal is perfect. Your choice of background color completes the photograph. You have my vote...8. |

Interesting bark on this tree, some dodging there would have enhanced the highlights and enabled me to see more of this feature. Is this growing out of a rock? Some lightening there also would enhance. |

Ficus by the looks of it. 37 years is indeed young. The silhouette and colours are interesting. 7. |
