Has nothing to do with chemistry???? What the hell is this guy talking about? Great photo and meets challenge of Chemistry.

Congrats on your excellent photo! It's very good. Has nothing to do with chemistry, but you rec'd a pass from the voters. I'm mad because the voters punished me for my image, which contains a lot of real world chemistry. Voters are really stupid. (not your fault!) This would be a good physics image. Just to be clear, I really like your image and am happy it scored so well. Just mad about the voters, in general.

What makes this a standout is the grayscale and lighting below. One of the best of the challenge.

Great idea! I vote 9.

Good photographic representation of a basic chemistry concept. Nice sharpness, lighting, and monochromatic tones - composition could be more interesting - 6

The extreme contrast yet smoothness of the drops' edges make this very attrative to the eye.
09/18/2006 07:43:53 AM
Not bad but no real subject.
09/16/2006 07:39:44 PM
Almost looks like a texture. Awesome!
09/16/2006 03:40:48 AM
that is sweet, its so perfectly evenly lit it looks fake (but I know its not)
lovely clean, graphic shot.
09/15/2006 06:33:55 PM
Nice shot but no Chemistry here.
09/15/2006 02:10:14 PM
love the clarity and crispness of this nature, although the flat composition leaves something to be desired.
09/15/2006 08:06:38 AM
Great texture b&w...lovely contrast. But I guess there will be arguing about chemistry.
09/14/2006 11:01:52 PM
I really like the look of this shot...I think it makes a good abstract. I'm not quite sure it fits "Chemistry" as much as I would like, but the shot comes off well.

Nice, simple and simple and......simple and well done. Good luck! 6

Isn't surface tension more of a physical property rather than chemical?
09/14/2006 07:04:51 PM
wonderful shot. I am curious as to the lighting in this photo. I love the distinct ring around each water droplet.
09/14/2006 05:07:48 PM
Great tone and lighting.
09/14/2006 04:07:02 PM
Very cool photo, but surface tension isn't chemistry. It's Physics.
09/14/2006 08:34:13 AM
Without the title, nothing in the image really says 'chemistry' to me. Just water drops.
09/14/2006 03:21:11 AM
Nice photo but it is related to Physics..
09/13/2006 11:58:03 PM
I like the sharpness
09/13/2006 08:37:15 PM
dots are fun, and doesn't do it for me. But it is fun.
09/13/2006 06:43:38 PM
cool shot
09/13/2006 12:37:44 PM
i like this shot. well composed and lit.
09/13/2006 10:49:25 AM
Awesome!!!! Nice and crisp - great shot!
09/13/2006 10:23:14 AM
Nice texture which would be a good stock image if stock is not already inundated with them. Yours stands out for being graphic. But this is not really overt school days chemistry, IMO.
09/13/2006 08:38:40 AM
That would be physics. Nice shot tho, just doesn't meet the challenge.
09/13/2006 08:09:44 AM
Beautiful and strangely mesmerizing!
09/13/2006 06:43:11 AM
Lovely abstract image
09/13/2006 03:30:48 AM
that's physics, not chemistry
09/13/2006 02:33:00 AM
Too bad you couldn't get all the drops to cooperate and be perfectly round for you :). But I like them anyway.
09/13/2006 02:16:52 AM
Nice clear shot, but isn't that physics?
09/13/2006 01:18:45 AM
This looks fake somehow, like a 3D drawing, nice effect. It's probably the black circles aroung every drop, how did you manage that, post process og is it perhaps taken with in a dark/black invironment. Well, I like it anyhow.
09/13/2006 01:02:35 AM
I love how it is a bit more intelligent and insightful than some of the other obvious, in-your-face type entries.
09/13/2006 12:38:04 AM
Great tonal range in this.
