Thoughts from Ecce, with his critique club hat on
First off congratulations on 6th place with this shot Arnthor! now, this critique should be interesting as the shot scored higher than any of my challenge entries, maybe I'll learn more than you will from it lol.
Composition
Whilst I like the composition (a lot) I tend to agree with several voters that either the angle could be changed for more impact or (my preference) have the full focus on the red beaker and a lower angle.
Technique
I've never used dry ice but guess its not the most willing of props? The primary colours work well for the liquid and the idea of creating different 'effects' of the reactions shows attention to detail.
Aesthetics, Challenge effectiveness
The idea was inspired and obviously fits the challenge well. Pity it was basic editing and you couldn't clean up the niggly spots. The dry ice seems to get lost in the foreground and another reason why I prefer just the red beaker, the foreground effect there is perfect. A deserved 6th place, I didn't vote in the challenge but if I did I'm thinking a 7.
Nice one

This has the possibilities of being a "Super Cool" effect. It appears that your excitment rushed you when there may have been a better shot with a slight change in lighting or angle. Either way, good work and good luck! 6 |

Nice clouds forming there. I wonder if you had some other shots to choose from? I like the red beaker and the yellow one - but the other one lacks something. |

Cool effect !
Did you think about making this with a black background, I recon it would have been wicked.
I think having all 3 glasses is perhaps a bit too much, just one would have made the image alot stronger, I think. |
