Hi from the Critique Club!
This image initially grabs the viewer's attention because of the colour. That yellow creates impact and atmosphere. It gives the impression that a huge electrical storm is about to begin, or one has just passed, which fits in well with the challenge. The clouds create a three dimensional feel as they contrast against the lighter parts of the sky and therefore give the image depth.
The pylon is perfectly placed compositionally speaking and the lines leading from top left to bottom right give movement and help lead the eye through the image.
The silhouette of both the pylon and the landscape against the yellow background creates drama.
There is a little noise in the sky but personally speaking I don't mind noise. Some have complained about over sharpening, but to me it's so minute that it doesn't detract from the overall image.
A really dramatic image of an everyday scene. Well done. |

Nice filter. Good angle - the power lines looking straight has a nice effect. |

shame about the noise. a pass through NI would have definitely improved this. still, having said that, I love the tones and it's a very solid composition as well as fitting the challenge perfectly. 8 |

Is it too much sharpening, or the resuze for web that makes it so harsh? Otherwise nice light - would like to see the unedited original ... |

I think this would have been in the running for a ribbon - maybe it will be. To me, I'm seeing some noise in the sky. Still giving it a 9 |

Very nice composition and tonalities. I think it might be a bit oversharpened. Looks like there are sharpening halos around the insulators. 7 |

Top picture. I little downside is that it is a little oversharpened. White halo around the steel beams in the mast can be seen. |

Nice composition, I like the placement of the tower in the frame. Colours are nice and the silhouette effect works well :o) |

the image is impactful...but the sharpening has added quite a white halo around the lines 7 |
