Good reason for this - as it's exactly what it was. Set up for the shot alone. Though, I did eat it after *g* The plate - well, our regular dinner plates are awefully "busy" and ugly, this was bad - they'd have been worse.

Not unfortunate - I spent the week wondering how anyone voted it above a '3' myself.

Technicals: Composition is decent. The leading lines definitely exist and do lead us to the subject. Lighting is a bit overexposed. The ice cream looks somewhat blown and the lack of contrast between the ice cream and the styrofoam plate hurts. The look of the styrofoam also isn't the best. The highlights look too much like noise.

Hello, just jumping in on the Doc's bandwagon here.

I like the composition, it's dynamic enough with the syrup leading to the scoop. Maybe you could of included more of the ice cream to balance the photo better. The biggest negative of this photo to me is the sparkles on the plate and the haphazard inclusion of its rim. They are both distractions from the subject.

Great contrast and focus. I love the shape in the syrup.

Delicious. I think it would make more interesting if the plate had a differnt color or pattern.

I like the sparkly effect of the paper plate. I'd experiment with curves to create more interesting effects.

This would be a winner in my book with a little more dramatic lighting. Still rate it high though.
