This is a casual scene in one of fine areas of the city, where the colors and the post stillness caught my attention among the frenzy of people and vehicles.
I just cropped top and bottom and adjusted the brightness & contrast. Couldn't get more color saturated...
The camera was set on apperture priority and I think I should have used a lower ISO to reduce the noise.

Critique Club Review:

Focus is excellent. I would suggest using depth of field to soften the background, as the busy appearance of the building across the street distracts heavily.

I agree with the other commenters that the subject is too centered, and would have been nice to see it lighted.

Color, saturation and hue are done well. Lighting is a bit flat and cool. (Looks like an overcast day.) Though there is some shadow, which if accurate, says high noon, which is a bad time for photos.

Too bad you couldn't stage some bicycles in front of the light pole. That would have further communicated the assimilated theme.

Thank you everyone for voting, specially those who took the time to comment on my very first DPC. They are of great value for me.

I tried to get away from the common ground like the power lines or messy cables, etc (those came first to my mind - and to others too), and do something different and subtle.
This pic was taken on the very last day of the contest and didn't have much time to elaborate or do a better PP.

Again, thanks a lot!

Too centered, image too busy. Isolating the subject (closing in on it) and blurring the background would have worked better.

Nice pic but not sure it is in line with the challenge.

Presuming that your subject is the light post, and not something more subtle that I'm missing, I think this shot would be greatly improved (especially within the context of this challenge) by taking it sometime when the light was actually on... Generally, though, I'm finding this image to be just too busy to know what to look at, really -- which perhaps is your point?

interesting, in other pictures electrical devices are object are wonder or worship. This one is a plant stand. Good theme but it would not stand up without the title or context of the challenge like an inside joke
