Really like the light at the edges of the wings, especially against those dark clouds.

Best shot of the bunch. Great highlighting on the wings. -10-

The backlight is spectacular, but there's too much empty black. Would benefit from tight cropping.

I really like this one. Great highlights and the sky is quite dramatic. Can be taken quite emotively. Wish the sky could have been a little MORE dramatic ie more breakup in the clouds, but without seeing it I don't know if that would look better or worse. Great shot!

Would be very nice if lighter. As it is, it's a little too dark for my taste - you can't really make out any detail on the bird.

Good timing! The pic is a bit dark though, the bird loses a bit of detail as a result, but a good pic! - 7

the backlit outlining is nice but the rest of the image is a bit dull...a tighter crop?

Lovely lighting detail - like a cloud with silver lining except it's a bird! Nice contrast against the neutral grey of the cloud. Also like the cloud detail at lower right.

2nd best seagull picture... I really like the dark body with the white outline around the bird. Background is also good.

Love the light on this bird. Clarity and use of negative space are also very good. 8.

I love the serenity in this photo, kind of like calm before the storm with those dark clouds out the back. Wonderful image - 9.

Beautiful moment of light to capture - had any 'oversharpening' comments yet? Like the feel of the wind you've captured, and the suggestion of the gull flying out of the black clouds. Would have liked some more subject matter in the background perhaps - the negative space gives the feel of isolation, but the breaking cloud at bottom right suggests there's more to be seen.

I like the highlights at the edges of the seagull's wings, nice! A little less silhouette (or a little more) might have been nice, but that's asking for a bit too much (no score affect). Nice framing. 8 Rob the Swash

Another bird shot better than mine! Crap! :-) The mood in this one is just fab! I would'nt change a thing with cropping and levels. Superb shot! 9

Humm, this is really a neat shot. I like the outline affect of the gull.

I like how the wings seem to be highlighted with light, but I find the over-all effect a little too dark for my tastes. A solid photo though!

I like the light on the back of the wings, wish there was bit more light on his front. Though I do like the feeling of storm coming.

What a beautiful, inspirational shot this is, enhanced by a great title. I love how the bird would have been lost against the darkness of the sky had the light not outlined it the way it did. Try a different border. If I were voting, I'd never take that into consideration, but I think when you put this into your gallery, a diffrerent, or no border, for this would be better.

Very nice, could have been a little lighter for my taste but very nice anyway ;)
