This photograph definitely pulls at the heartstrings. It is a beautiful collection of memories. The only thing I would change is to crop just a bit differently to where you can't see the desk drawer, it's a bit distracting. 9 lecalan

'old' composition using old things... interesting did you intend this?

Composition is good.Positioning of elements is unnatural, however.

A super staged photo. Very moving.

Technically great, but for me it looks too staged... The picture does carry a great story and you can't miss the challenge... (6)

Excellent photo, detail is sharp, the composition is spot on and most importantly it has a real feeling about it.

I find the corner of the wall and the space to the bottom right of the picture distracting. I also think a color other than white for the background would have been an improvement. The pen is also out of place, it looks too modern. Wonderful idea though, I like the way you laid everything out.

Real nice. Maybe it would have been better to use an unlined piece of paper and an older model pen. Technically great. I'll give it an 8.

Great idea. Nice focus and clarity. I like the arrangement of the items, but maybe more effective in a different way. I'm not sure I like the papermate pen. Problem is the table and the white boards or walls - they don't go. Also, I think the white balance is off and the lighting is a bit too much. Perhaps changing the DOF would make this more effective - or a different angle. This is my opinion - not to offend. 5

Very nice idea, but the modern pen really throws it off. The letter hasn't been folded, it seems, and I don't think three-hole punch paper was very prevalent. Cleaning up some of these out of place elements would make this work much better, I think.

Excellent. I don't think it get's any better than this. I have had many relatives who fought in WW2, and I have studied it in detail myself. This is as good as any published work of the same style.

sorry to say this, but I get a little tired of staged photos like this. I know they have there place though

The pen looks too recent...unless they did have ball point pens back then

i think you should have used yellow old paper and a old fountain pen
that would have been a little better
