Thanks to all who liked this image. While not compositionally my best work, I thought that the colors and the juxtaposition of vibrant purple life with the impending death that comes with autumn made for a nice combination.

I find the composition distracting and weighted heavily to the right and bottom.

I think you'd have done better to re-crop the shot and get rid of the dead bud in the lower left.

very good subject for this challenge. i find it extremely odd that you chose to compose the green background as the focus of the attention in this image

I like this alot. It's so nice and clean and sharp. And the contrast between the fresh, pretty purple flowers and the harsh prickly stems adds just the touch of drama that makes the photo unique and interesting.

This picture is really nice in every way but one. The composition-the main subject is cut off to the right.
I'm not sure I understand the crop but I'm guessing this is all you had to work with. Too bad because the color and focus are outstanding. Nice but with a slight flaw.
