Shot this for the Rain challenge but missed the deadline. A petal that had fallen off a bush onto my driveway. This is my first submission after lurking here for almost a year. I just got my 30D yesterday.

Shot in RAW, resized to 720x480, levels, hue/saturation (pushed magenta a bit), save for web.

Post Challenge:
Thanks for the comments. I had another shot of this where the ground was more uniformly wet, but the angle was different and didn't seem as appealing.

Thanks for the comments.

beautiful colors here...the droplets are a nice addition...the background doesn't really work for me, though

A petal is quite a strong symbol and a found one alone does tell the words of your title. Sometimes the finding can be an inspiration to recreate the scene with a little more drama elsewhere. I find it inspiring.

The DOF here doenst work too well here, its more a distraction than anything. I think your photo lies solely in the petal itself, so an extremely tighter crop would probably work well here.

Good use of colors and shapes in this image with a minimalistic theme.
