it looks like the white balance on this shot is a little off. did you shooot it under flourescent light? well anyways, it's a good picture. if you lit it from the side of the frame, it would make nice shadows and bring out the texture of the coins.

Can we re-think your title? If you use money, it goes away, if you don't use money, doesn't it stay in your pocket (or whatever?) Next, most of the coins appear worn (more argument against your wording of the title). Sorry to pick on the title so much..... It's a good shot of the coins, but the penny is out of time/place. Buffalo head nickle would have been O.K. 7 Swash

Good macro shot. Color balance is off.

I think some of the chinese coins date back to even a few centuries old :)

I think the cent ruins it. It takes all the attention and if that was supposed to be, it's in a very bad place.

This is a very interesting composition of old coins... the only thing that bothers me is the penny :) I wonder why this is here? Is it a size reference or something? Good work :) - jmsetzler

Excellent macro! Good focus and composition. I like how you have filled the frame up with the different coins. karmat

Very well done. I like the lighting/coloring. I like that you can see the dimensions of the coins (no just flat). Very nice detail and great texture. Culture'ific!!! 9

Something old. Use your photographic technique to emphasize the age of your subject.
Composition - quite good
Technical Aspects - quite good
Meets Challenge - not without the title
Visual Impact / Originality - good

I like the idea and arrangement, although it would have been nice to see some of the dates on the coins. It also appears to need a little color adjustment.

we should get our coin collection together!!

I'll have to take your word on the date. The penny looks out of place here, maybe its too new.The other coins are really interesting because of the way they have aged.

the 1st penny backed with the Lincoln Memorial was minted in 1959
