 I had this idea almost immediatley after reading the challenge description...What goes together less than guns and flowers? Guns and beer, maybe, or guns and cuddly kittens, but I couldn't get the cat to hold the gun right.

The setup was very simple, tried with two strobes, ended up with only one, at about 45 degrees, which gave the deep shadows seen.

Editing was pretty minimal:

Saturation +20 or so
Saturation -75 masked to the backdrop only. There wasn't much color in the backdrop to begin with, but I liked it even more black and white than it came out originally.
Slight crop to improve composition
Resize, smart sharpen, save for web.

I expect this to stir up some emotion. Let's see if I'm right...

The execution could be better. It's a good idea though (there's a similar one in the challenge, I think it was better executed). If the gun was fully visible and the flower were a single stem, I think it would be nicer.

You might have called this Dead Flowers. Nice concept...a different background might have helped this to be stronger. The gun and back leaves get a bit lost. Still a good effort.

Shoot a blank, not a live, to clean it afterwards, or you will need flowers 6 feet above yourself!
