Title was

I scream!

That would be the link between the girl and the ice cream ...

I guess I can post this already now, as I am not participating in this challenge, because of my new policy: If in doubt, do NOT submit. I do not want any more sub-5 scores ... so having submitted just before midnight, I unsubmitted 40 seconds before deadline ...

Go ahead and give your opinion anyway, maybe even what you would have voted ... thanks!

Description: Gather exactly two objects that are completely unrelated (for example, a carrot and a yo-yo) and make some sort of sense out of their combination, photographically speaking.

Thanks, that is what I needed to hear, about unsubmitting, though I think the other way around - unrelated, but not a good picture :-) Freestyle, you mean the monthly? I dare not to enter there before my skills improve, including PhotoShop! (STILL only using Picasa2 ...). Unless I get lucky and think that I have a really, really good shot.

Thank you for the comments, and after voting myself, I am content of my unsubmitting - even though my "average" so far is 8 :-) (one "vote"), it would not have made much more than 5, if even. I have earlier been surprised in how low images went that I thought were good.

I think my idea holds up, but as mentioned, both objects should be (more) in focus, and picture should have been with much more of a wow-factor. Used my 50mm, but should have used the 10-22 I think, would have made the ice cream so much bigger because of the perspective. And the title could have been "find the link". It was not easy to stage a good scream, as people were watching from all over during the shooting. Raining outside (why no rain LAST WEEK, GEE!), so shot inside, and McD is what she wanted ... (I feel the same way, Nitesead!)

So much for starting to shoot 1 hour before deadline. Note, time here is 12 hours ahead of US Eastern time zone, even 13 when DST ends ... so real, but overcast, daylight.

Humans and ice cream cones are pretty well related in my book. Would have been a hard sell I think. Maybe the title would have shoe-horned it in. I generally ignore the titles until I've decided what vote to cast.

Actually, the only thing I don't like about the pic is the title (and maybe the word "McDonalds," but that would be a personal quirk of my own)...the title makes it too obvious :-) The facial expression in the background is great, and the ice cream is making me want some. I probably would have given this an 8, for artistic quality, technical perfection, and just plan fun energy.

The idea of this photo is good. Two unrelated objects (a scream and an ice cream cone). I would rather both be included in the DOF, however.
