Wow - after reading through the comments I have to wonder if we're all looking at the same photograph. I see nothing at all wrong with the "focus" and am pretty sure I don't want it deeper or shallower or closer to the viewer (and I am usually one who is disconcerted by OOF foregrounds.) In other words, I thought this was a darn fine take on the challenge. I also think it would make a great cover for a book.

Interesting pic, but a tad too blurry for my tastes.

Nice idea, but a bit confusing. I think the focus should be closer to the viewer.

a lot going on. The focus is so shallow that it doesn't keep the viewer in the photo for long. You almost have to struggle with the photo to work out what is going on. (I suppose this could be a good or bad thing). Not sure what that big blob in the top left is either!

I like the use of repetition with variation of poses. I like the depth of field as well.

I really don't care for the dof on this. To me, the whole image has no apeal, and doesn't crave to be looked at deeper. Can't see it 'next'. Other than that, there is some potential for constrats and such.

I bet you just walked into the art store and took this, didn't you?

The focus is too soft and it lacks DOF, but a great idea.

Oh this is really good but it's so busy and with such a shallow DOF that I don't think most people will see it for what it is.

Intriguing composition: I just struggle to find the focal point which is dissappointing.
