spot edit some dust and spots on top of my melon
some dodge & burn
convert to BW with chanel mixer
hue/sat layer underneath to tweek the BW layer.
a little levels & Curves
convert to greyscale

selective sharpening
NI on shadow

This is a seriously amazing portrait. The tones and lighting are stunning. I'm amazed it didn't take a ribbon. Nice work.

Breathtaking... an absolutely awesome portrait. Shadows are incredible, both on the background and at the subject. Tonal range is exceptional, dutone is perfect. GREAT!

Very nice moving study. I would have a loved a simpler shadow, but even as is the image has a convincing projection. Bump.

your shadow is a little too spunky. A N X I E T Y was better. (it's still a good picture, btw. I just didn't feel it showed "despair." I gave it a 6)
