I dont expect this to do great since it isnt a true portrait, but I feel that if voters can step out of their rigidness in voting standards they might cut me break. Taken at a local Metro Park in Canal Winchester, this is one of the farmers who works ont the historical 1880s farm. I did try some straight forward portrait type shots but this one I thought was the best of them all even if a bit out of the box for the challenge. I love the colors and the composition. Lets hope I dont get dinged too hard.
Post Process - layered out farmer, background trees and fence and foreground and edited all separately. Farmer recieved levels, saturation, dodging and burning, high pass and soft light blend, USM. Trees took levels, saturation, selective color adjustments, gaussian blur. Fence and foreground took levels, saturation, selective color, dodging and burning, USM. Flattened and then another USM. Resized for web, NeatImage, USM and border. |

This is a great shot! I gave it a 9 in voting. This is actually the type of shot I believed we were supposed to be doing. All the people who just had something in front of their faces IMHO were taking the easy way out. You are showing WHO he is without his face. Again, great job! |

Yes, I like it. Nice and colourful. Would have preferred to have had better control of the depth of field in order to make the background reced a little - make the farmer pop out of the iimage. |

Very nice fall color, good rule of thirds. Like the shadow of the farmer, too. |

Great photo! However, IMHO the title might be "sold" more easily in sepiatone with a weathered border... |
