A definite split - either they get it or they don't. I get frustrated sometimes with the subjectivity of it all. In my perspective, photography is, above all, art. If others get it, good. If they don't, they should at least respect the artists intention.
Technically, this is a wonderful image. It has mystery and intrigue as well as beauty and visual appeal. I didn't vote in this challenge but if I had, I would have given it a 7 or so. |

Hmmmm,
I'm not sure what others mean about the out of focus or missing side of the nose, etc... I assumed that was the purpose given the intensity of the light.
What struck me right away was the model's lips, which by the way, in this photo, are simply perfection... The hidden features of the face, causes me to look a bit closer at her left side. I find mself following the eye, down between the cheek and hairline, then over the thumb, chin and right up into that bold black ring. I like the way the photo makes me look at it in a circular motion without distraction. In my opinion this is an exceptional photo that leaves the viewer lingering, and wanting more.
Well done, this is a truly Superb Photo....(that was scored too low)

I am stunned at the overall results of this challenge. People don't have a clue what "lighting" means. They took it so literally and I'm disappointed. This is creative and artistic. Keep it up. |

Obviously a lot of work went into this. It's quite beautiful, and original. |

I like the idea... but seems a bit heavy on the processing? Her hand seems to be one with her neck, and she seems to have lost half of her nose. |

Some might say that the lighting is too harsh in this shot.
BUT... i don't i think it makes this a shot with a story and it really works for me.
Good luck

Wow. This is really striking. I like it! I can imagine it as art in a very contemporary decor. I love the composition. |

Interesting. I'm not liking how you lose her nose and the separation between her hand and neck. Without that I think I would like it better. |

The lighting is a bit hardh upon the right side of her face so much that you lose any curves of the nose. |
