Thank you for the comments ... I should point out that it is not with a self timer or remote, but with a collegue induced shutter release ... I just love my new camera and both the 50mm as well as this one, then 10-22mm. |

It's like the pleochroic effect minerals display under a geologist's poalarized microscope. As you say, unavoidable. You can sometimes see it displayed on cheap aquariums too - as caused by the glass bending slightly. BTW, interesting portrait.
