Underrated! There's a real voyeuristic sensation to looking at this -- we're peeking in, and the woman has no idea we're there. The processing is great, too, very painterly. I didn't vote in this challenge, but would have given a very high rating. As it is, this is one of my faves. |

Hello from the Critique Club,
I must say that I really like this image and felt it was a creative take on the challenge topic. I have no real suggestions on how to improve this image. The exposure, set-up, and all of the other technicals are done extremely well. This is reflected in the voting histogram, as you received nearly as many 6's as 5's. So why didn't this image score better? IMHO, it is related to the DPC Wow factor. At first glance this image doesn't have a lot of wow. However, the more you look at it the more details there are to discover, like the rose. Since most voters don't look that long at an image, your Wow factor didn't get recognized. This is an image I would be proud to have in my portfolio and one that I hope you are proud of.
BTW, did you intentionally make the screen all static or is this a result of the long exposure wiping out any detail of an actual program?
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions regarding this critique.
Tim

I love this photo; it is sly and subtle and it makes quite a good social commentary. A very good looking young person who somehow from a distance manages to depict a sense of intelligence and health and grace wastes away staring at pure nothingness. It takes a while for the affect to soak in, and I would be surprised if it scores very well. I hope I am wrong. |

This reminds me of the sofa from the blue ribbon to the Far Side challenge. Great use of lighting, and the models expression is perfect to go with the title. Well done! |

It's funy because when I look at this I start to judge the elements that I see ... like the floor - cool, the person, pretty, the wall art, cool ... the TV is white - cool ... So I step back and try to make sense of it -- basically there is no real statement here, which I like!!!! This is reality - assuming someone keeps a clean house and gets immobilized by the TV - which is definitely pretty believable. Well done - stepping back and taking a pic about ... light. |

Awesome! Probably isn't going to break any records, but I **love** the concept. As a person who doesn't watch broadcast TV, I like the title. |
