so stop voting on them or better yet stop commenting on them. If you don't like the photo then fine give me some sort of critique about how to improve it, not just bitch about my unrealistic setup. while it is your right to vote and comment as you see fit, telling me my subject is contrived is fairly rude and doesn't help anyone. if everyone just took photos of whatever it is that you want then guess what that would be overdone too. |
I can't stop seeing your shots in the challenges, nor can I know that a shot is yours, so I'll keep voting and commenting on them as I see fit. Some pictures can be improved, some cannot. In this shot I can't see how you can improve it - it's the core idea of the shot that I dislike, and this is what I honestly wrote in my comment. That was not bitching, although *your* response to my comment comes very close to it.

I like the emotive mood of this photo; although, the contrast is a little high IMO. (6) |

Color contrast is good with the red guitar. Would suggest a white shirt to give even more pop, if possible. |

Nice human touch. I do get the feeling that this is a museum type setup, but that's ok overall. A little contrasty around the edges but it serves to bring the viewer to center (which is almost backwards - usually a frame or vignetting for that purpose is darker). The placement of the guitar man adds as well by having a dark background behind him allowing him to stand out more. Not sure if that was intentional, but it worked. :D
Normally I'm not a selective desat person, but it would be interesting to see what this looked like with the guitar isolated by it's color. ???
Good luck in the challenge. |

I like the angle, and how the picture has a colder color cast. It works well for the title. |

A Red Sox fan singin' the blues. Who'da thunk? Surprised he's not throwing himself under the train. But, alas... I am also one of those fans. Go BoSox! |

The colours on the pic are good, especially the denim blues. But the details on the train are hard to make out, and you cropped the top of the train off. Also, the slope of the ground makes it seem like the train is leaning a bit. |
