 I'm actually surprised at how well this scored on DPC. This has pretty minimal editing. Only major difference from the original is the crop. This was actually croppped from a photo taken in landscape mode. Seemed like cheating for the challenge but it's what I would have done with it anyway.

Glad to have a new photo for my profile page. :)

This is quintessentially what it is. Can't imagine anything under 8 for this, but it's a 10 for me.

very nice photo....absolutely love it....but i have a minolta 7d question. my 7d shows my photos absolutely in focus (whether in bright conditions or low light), however, when i snap the photo, the image is slightly outta focus...or not so sharp....any idea what might be causing this problem...

At first this seems average, both in composition and focus. But after seeing this again I realize the mood is whats most important .

make sure in a landscape "portrait" that no emphasis goes to anything but the landscape. (person portrait = main emphasis on the person landscape = main emphasis on landscape)

This is terrific, lovely & muted & somber. The lone figure, of course, is the grace note that makes the image. His posture is perfect for the scene, as if a world of cares is weighing on him.
