Challenge: Landscape in Portrait Orientation (Advanced Editing IV*)
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM for Nikon
Location: Red Deer Lake, Lloyd Park, Alberta.
Date: Oct 28, 2006
Aperture: f7.1
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/1000
Galleries: Landscape, Water
Date Uploaded: Oct 28, 2006

I thought this a cool concept as I can have a bit of fun by including a portrait frame as a quirky element within the composition. I ventured out to the local marsh where the grass is chest high and full of texture. My "frame support" apparatus proved useless and I ended up placing the frame onto the frozen surface and around the landscape subject. Here I was, trudging through thin ice and ankle deep mud looking for the right presentation. Fly fishing waders are a must have safety item in everyone's trunk! ;-) My Manfrotto tripod took a bath but fortunately my camera was around my neck at that time. Hope y'all enjoy.

Very interesting. Focus is pulled towards the frame, away from the water and reeds, then they are brought back in. New to Dpc and this is the best photo yet.
