Challenge: Wind II (Advanced Editing IV)
Collection: Senses
Camera: Canon PowerShot A530

the effect here is mostly camera motion, but the fur of the dog does show the effects of actual wind. crop, curves, resize, lots of sharpen.

post-challenge: I guess I perceive wind differently than most! Cani = dog and kaze = wind. Kamikaze means wind of god.

Wind of dog?! Hmmmmmm...well, I guess I wouldn't want to smell this image, but a lovely blur of a sweet looking pup nonetheless. The red leash definitely adds vogue...;-)

Cruel score. Judging by the average vote from us commenters, I suspect a lot of other people aren't really 'looking'. Shame.

Hi Grace. I'm gonna have to go see if that's really a word... it's not (in English, anyway, according to dictionary.com). Maybe dervish? I suspect you're after the dervish behavior of a dog in motion creating a whirlwind of sorts. Whether it meets the challenge or not - well, I suspect mostly "not" - I like the accent of the leash and the way the motion pattern of the ground blends with the fur of the dog.

Sorry, but to me this is just a picture of a dog that's difficult to see - it's hard to get much in the way of "wind" image here. Cute dog, though.

Blurry and not related to wind as far as I can tell.

Poor dog. Looks more like rain than wind.

Can't tell if this has been done in post or in camera. Either way, you've achieved a sense of movement which implies windiness. Nice :)

Sorry, this photo portrays movement, but not necessarily wind. Perhaps it was a windy day, but it does not give me as a viewer that message. I think it would be better if the pavement were focused and the hair on the dog were blowing. My opinion

Sweet idea, but the pavement blur along with the dog
blur is hard to relate to the wind theme.
The dog looks as if it's time to play, not pose.

Must have been a very strong wind to cause the asphalt to shift like that...

How did you twist the asphalt like that? I get dizzy from looking at it. +2 for such interaction with the viewer. I like the way the dog came out - it's the long exposure. I am not sure I like/get the composition in this shot.

I like the salt & pepper coloring in the photo and the red leash adds some nice color contrast to the composition. Rather than appear windy though, the picture simply seems to be blurred/out of focus. 5.
