 I found this in the harbor area of Amsterdam between the leftovers after the police had cleaned a set of buildings that have been occupied by squatters for over 10 years

This is a good concept. The overall photo is a little dard and dreary. The composition is good.

Did you really find this or was it set up? Either way, this can be taken two ways to me, either the diary being exposed to others because it was lost (but travel diaries are usually pretty mudane) or it being exposed to the elements, much like it's owner might have been.

The shot is balanced very well to me, not centering the diary really works with this shot and at first I would say it's a tad dark but when it's raining it really is a bit dark isn't it? Very well done, good idea, good exposure overall. A 9 for you, may be back to bump it up before I'm done.

This is a bit underexposed. I'm not sure if correct exposure would improve the overall theme.

Good Points: nice story behind the image
Bad Points: under exposed, and dull, could have got closer so the writing was clearer perhaps.

Original idea, I like it. Looks a bit underexposed, and I'm not sure about the composition and the background.

I like the concept, but I find the picture to be a tad dark. IMO, it would add to the interest if the journal was buried a bit (either by leaves or in ground partially) and if the shot was a bit closer so you could read some of the wording clearly.

I like the idea, but the shot seems a bit dark and maybe there's a bit of a green cast.
