Challenge: Portrait in Landscape Orientation (Advanced Editing IV*)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Location: Dorm room
Date: Oct 30, 2006
Aperture: 8.0
ISO: 100
Shutter: 30 sec
Galleries: Portraiture, Studio
Date Uploaded: Oct 30, 2006

This was done by taking a rubber Halloween mask stuck on a black music stand, using a small LED light (the same one I've used on a number of photos)to draw the lines.

Converted from raw, replace color to turn the lines green, levels, brightness/contrast, burn around the mouth, dodge some of the lines, clone in the eye from a bit of the green near the mouth, crop, resize, submit.

I am slightly concerned that people will not consider this to be a portrait, but if people are open minded it shouldn't be a problem.

I do not really like the green lines you used for the breath (was it a penlight?), maybe blurring them a bit would improve the effect.

Mom...where have you been hiding!?!?!?!!?! Nice job with the light. I hoped to see more 'Horror' images this challenge. I'm told most DPC'ers don't like it. I should know...I'm scoring yours higher then mine...check it out when the challenge is over. Good luck to ya!

I consider a portrait as a representation of some aspect of the subject (which I would expect to be living but I suppose doesn't have to be). While this is an interesting picture, I do not feel that I am learning anything about the subject.
