It may not be fair, but after looking at about half a dozen shots of CD ROM drives, hard drives or other internal computer parts it isn't possible to look at one without recalling the ones that had unusual lighting, reflections off metal and other standout features. This is a nice shot, but it's entered in a tough field. |

More stirpped down PC hardware. Personally I have yet to rip apart HDDs or CD ROM drive.
Image wise the lighting seems very flat and as a consequence there is no one point of main interest.
Challenge wise not greatly met in the present company. |

So that is what it looks like! ;) Nice shot, good idea and the lighting is very well done. The only thing to me is the DOF or the lack of focus on the bottom of the shot and the eye looks a tad fuzzy. Starting with a 7 but I will come back and look again! |

Interesting composition but the focus is a bit soft overall. I can't determine any particular advantage here by not bringing some element of the subject into sharp focus... |

Very good idea for the challenge. I do think the focus should of been a more on the inner workings of the drive. Broader dof, but I do like this and think you met the challenge. |

Good points:nice and sharp at the top
Bad points:more a tecnical snapshot than a photo. Quite a dull image with not much detail and no where to draw the eye.
Score:2
