You've got some great light for this shot. Soft, no harsh shadows, even from the hat. He does get a bit lost against the tree though, because of the similar tones of the hat and tree. I keep wanting to cover up the yellow wall on the left as it drags my eye away from the focus. |

Nice job with the soft focus look, yet keeping him and the horse sharp. Some intrigue/interest to the viewer wondering what the distraction to the left is for 'The Paso Man'. I naturally want to see this cropped some off the left, but with them both looking left it would cramp the photo. This photograph begs to be in portrait mode. I can see the perfect crop from here. :D Good luck in the challenge. |

He looks like he's wearing a stovepipe hat. Nice composition, though. It just looks a little dark on my monitor. No details in the dark areas, including the horse. 6 |

Seems to me, more snapshotish then portratish. Nice focus. |

a little distracted by the background and the hat and horse seem to be slightly dark |

It looks like you've softened the background. It makes the image look a bit too unreal for my tastes. But I do find the rider and horse's face to be wonderfully sharp. Nicely done there. |

He doesn't stand out as much as I'd like him to. Perhaps a closer crop or from a different angle. |
