Easy directions for the busy Moms out there:
Take wrapping off package of microwave popcorn.
Unfold Bag, place in microwave.
Set timer for 3 minutes, 45 seconds (this is the perfect time in our microwave)
Remove, careful, it's hot.
Shake and open carefully.
Pour in Bowl or eat directly from the bag.
Best eaten with a tall cold glass of ice water.
I know this is cheating but honestly, being the mother of three, the wife of one, the owner of a small business this is my life, my microwave is my best friend on most days.
This was taken on a dark maroon pillow case, regular room light, flash, cropped and bordered.
Pop Weaver is our favorite brand of microwave popcorn as seen here: //www.popweaver.com/ |

You don't know how many times I've given popcorn to my kids for 'dinner!' Nice idea. The popcorn in front of the bowl adds a nice informality that popcorn usually has. I would recommend you just sharpen things up a bit with focus, and then with post processing. You might also want to experiment with adding more contrast to get your whites just a little bit whiter and your darks just a little bit darker for a cleaner, clearer image. Nice work. |

Pos .. I like the colors and background is kind of nice. Nice photo :D
Neg .. Its slightly out of focus, The composition would be better if the whole bowl was in frame, and too bad you couldn't have a seamless background .. the ripples are distracting.

The way you have the lighting makes it feels dreamy. The dark background helps to give a feeling that you're at the theatre. The fabric seems like the kind they use to cover the screen. |

Make sure the kids don't grab it first. The lighting and black background make the popcorn stand out really nicely. |

DOF is nice but focus is a little soft for my taste! Like the subtle reflection of the popcorn in the dish! |

Good lighting, nice simple background. The popcorn looks fresh and light and buttery. I think the focus is a bit soft and I'm not sure if that border detracts or not - the color seems a little washed out and brings down the tone of the bowl, IMO. 6 |
