Challenge: Self Portrait V (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Location: Seattle, WA
Date: Nov 4, 2006
Aperture: 22
ISO: 1600
Shutter: 1/8
Date Uploaded: Nov 4, 2006

This was very last second for me. Woke up, saw the challenge and knew I didn't have much time to take the picture and edit before I had to run into work. I wanted to do something a little bit different and I am not sure how voters will react but oh well. The editing included dodge/burn and some sharpening, convert to black and white and lastly brightness/contrast adjustments.

AWESOME! The light is great, and so are the textures and those subtle colors. Cropping the head off made this really interesting, adding an atmosphere of mysterious intrigue.

Wow. A great "untypical" shot that works very effectively!

I was actually scrolling up and wondering for a second "what's wrong with my computer?" Great idea.

Hey, someone cut off your head too?

Great color and mood in this. Jeans are kina wrinkly in the wrong way though. Not that I'm deducting anything for it, I'm just saying I noticed and I shouldn't have.

This is the way I like to take self portraits, but I have the feeling you're much better looking and should include your face every now and again. Still, I quite like this. My kinda picture.

I like this photo. I like that the title really adds to the photo. I also like your use of lighting. Good job!

I don't know that I like removing the head to illustrate cut off from the world... but beyond that this is very well executed. The tonality in the shadows, the saturation of the color, and the contrast all work together to create wonderful texture in the light... I guess depth would be the best word.

Nice colors and I like this kind of lighting... But I have to admit that (I know is completely intended) I dont really like your head and feet croped out from the picture...

I understand not wanting to show your face, had some of those thoughts myself, but chopping off the head seems a little extreme. :)Other than that, the dark dingy background and wrinkled jeans goes well with the title.

I like the lighting. But I don't think the unusual cropping does something positive to the photo.
