I really dig your approach to this challenge. I do however, feel that the use of both the GPS and the compass is a bit redundant. Perhaps a magnifying glass could be substituted for the compass? I think also, a bit of shadow cast from the GPS would have given the image some depth. |

Rather than just some tools sitting there to fit the theme, as most submissions chose to do, perhaps trying to tell the story more of who is using them or why would give more of a clear 'feeling' of science. Only a couple of submissions really tried to do that and had much more impact. This could be 'maps' theme, hiking, mountanclimbing, directions...you probably wouldn't think science unless you knew before hand. |

Nice idea. Personally I would have liked to seen the composition made a lot tighter. Maybe pick just one interesting piece of the map and then place the compass and the gps tracker closer together. Then crop in tight trying to make a more dramatic composition. |
