You are missing the big pile of garlic. I have a friend who used to cook in co-op student housing ... someone would come in the kitchen and see her dicing 7 or 8 onions and they'd ask "what's for dinner," and she'd reply "I haven't decided yet."

LOL too funny .. I have a feeling this night won't be so romantic after all.. :D

Pos .. DOF looks nice in this shot. Focus great. Composition good. The table and candles look beautiful.
Neg .. I think this picture would look even better as b&w.

Especially with those flames from the candles! ;) This is a very cute shot and idea. The DOF is wonderful and the clarity in the front is again, wonderful. The cropping is a bit tight in the front, and the border is okay but would have worked better if the thick black wasn't on the outside. An 8 :)

Looks like it could be kind of tasty to me - but then I love hot food, and baked beans can really be a treat if they're cooked right (but the pot doesn't suggest real baking, which they need.) Unfortunately, the table in the background doesn't strike me as romantic, just out of focus.

Hehehe. Perhaps beans aren't the best idea for romance ;) I like the humor of the composition. The lighting is great both one the ingredients and the nicely soft focused table and candles. Mood is set perfectly and each aspect of the photo is well defined. I am curious.. what is on the table with the candles? A flower? It looks like a little man about to blow the candle out! Nice set-up. 8

I'll give an 8. Issues are composition.. I think the things away from the table are irrelevant. It is a 'food' picture not a still life. And tighter focus would work. I like the effort, however. Probably a nice little meal, too.
