After taking tons of photos of neon lights, I kept getting drawn back to this one. B/W conversion struck me as the right way to show off the element that I found beautiful: the shapes. Since the neon light was red, I removed the red channel in B/W conversion to remove the glow around the tubes and only show the tubes themselves. I find this really lets you see the curves the best.

I am personally very happy with this shot, especially given how hard I was finding it to get anything good of neon lights. What DPCers will think... who knows. I very well see myself getting trashed for going B/W in a neon light contest. But there's only one way to find out - so here goes.

I'm guessing this one might be going slightly underrated with the choice of b&w. Hopefully not, it looks great with the composition and choice of DOF. Well done!

While there were several B & W renditions of neon in this challenge, this is by far the best one. :D The abstract feel to the shot and extremely shallow DOF work SO great here! Wonderful composition, good border choice, and overall awesome shot!
