I like the light, and the interesting composition the contrast has created. A square of grey, a triangle of black... :)

Blown, schmown. I happen to like blown highlights and this is a wonderful picture, in my opinion. It has a longing, but not a sad longing, to it. It's very pure - a dog and his window. It doesn't get much better than that in life.

Thanks for the two comments. The highlights were not blown out like that in the original. I did that purposly trying to achieve a white on white but I guess it didn't work too well.

Great choice to use natural light. I think what bothers me about this is the tonal range. Some highlights are blown out to pure white, and it seems that the shadows in the lower right corner of the photo are not quite dark enough. Hmmm... I wonder if your monitor is darker than the rest of ours? If I looked at this on a darker monitor, it probably would look a lot better.

I like the angles that Jack forms in your composition. The natural lighting is fine and often preferred, however in this case the lighting is a bit too strong and you've lost some details in the blownout areas. Best of luck to you in the challenge.
