one of my favourite wedding photos evah.

all natural light...bless the D200 and it's low noise at ISO800. this was an entirely candid moment. i was walking past and saw her standing like that and yelled DON'T MOVE from across the bar. the wedding party was just waiting to go into the restaurant to have dinner and I figured I'd find some fun shots. I got 3 or 4 absolute gems (including "Bogart" from the free study last month) in about 20 minutes.

Dressed-up pretty girls, a bar, and a camera...three of my favourite things :)

Kidding..seriously great shot P. I agree the cigarette adds to the shot. I really like her position in the picture with the free space behind and away from where her body is facing.. it gives a sense of the moment.. and her expression is interesting.. in that its hard to tell what she is thinking.. a little mystery is always a good thing.

*edit to add* I just ran across the thumb and Sassy is what came to mind.. she has sass in them there peepers of hers.

yeah, pretty cool. For a blink of an eye, she has an "Emma Thompson" feel to her face. Love the editing - tonal range is perfect.

For me, the lighting, composition and cigarette make this shot. It has a bit of an old Hollywood or moviestar feel to it. Without the cigarette it may not have worked at all... Did you shoot this with available lighting or did you use something else?

beautiful shot. love the composition and tone and that pose couldn't be better. cigarettes seem to be a great prop for you. :)

there are two little white dots that need to be fixed. one just to the left of her hand and one on her...um...cleavage.
