Didnt really feel like entering into the birth year category but didnt have any real inpsiration for this challenge either. Tried some images with my "Charlie Chaplin" character but they looked pretty poor. Decided to take some pics of our cats as they were all outside hanging out. Hairball started walking down between two houses and I snapped a couple of shots taht I thought might work. Edited one up and for a cat shot I thought it was pleasing. And after I posted it I started thinking about some of Larus' work - primarily his somewhere/nowhere series. I tried getting a square crop off the one image but I just couldnt do it and have it look right so I went back outside and tossed Hairball by the fence and called him to me. Popped off a couple of shots with a different lens and this was one of them. Maybe not a stunning ribbon winner but another pic that I am proud to have for me. I like the colors and the detail seems pretty clean. Advanced editing would have been nice to clean up some of the crap in my backyard, but what can you do. Hopefully some will get the deja vu spoof aspect that I was shooting for. Maybe not just from the image but from the compilation of Larus' 3 titles into one. With all of the Larus addicts here I bet a couple get it.

And I just remembered that my last entry into a perspective challenge was "Sherpets Perspective" - an image that imitated one of Sherpets pics and style. So maybe this is my lot in DPC life - my perspective entries will be from theperspective of another DPC user.

PP - RAW conversion with shadow/highlight contrasts, saturation, slight exposure adjustment, sharpen and noise reduction. In PS - levels, saturation, selective color adjustments, NI, USM, resize, border, USM.

Hah! Well good enough to beat me anyway :) Wish I had voted, would have gotten an automatic 10 from me, hehe.

Ha! I didn't vote this challenge, but I got the reference. :) Nice shot as is, quite apart from the fun humor.

The cat's face looks overly sharpened or somehow unnatural.

Cool Eyes and stance. I think the white around the nose is a bit bright and lacking in detail. I also think a tighter crop would improve the composition.

Very pretty pussy cat. The eyes are so much sharper than anything else around them. Nice work. 7.
