How many thought I was Steve?

Took this on a trip down to the inlaws. It is a 5-6 minute exposure done about one hour after sunset. There is still enough light from the setting sun to give some detail to the mountains instead of them being total sillouette.

POST: Some awesome stuff in this challenge. The best thing for me was accomplishing my last 2006 goal of having my average vote received over 6.25. yaaa!

Fingers crossed that I can try this shot...I'll have to look up on how to do my mirror lockup for that long of an exposure. Quite the challenge...thank you Jason...

Very well done! The exposure is perfect. The Cactus adds a nice sense of balance. It almost looks like it is praising the rising sun. Great Job.

Lovely shot. To me, the lower text blocks the view. Maybe it could be placed elsewhere.

NOOOOOOO.. The text ruins this.. and would of liked it more postcard shaped.. if that makes sense?

Beautiful photograph...the light is absolutely amazing. Not sure what your thoughts were, but I think it would of be kind of cool if the cactus was offset more to the right, away from the mountains. Great job, regardless!

Love the photo, hate the text (not the words, just the font and the way it's presented). I don't think it adds to the photo or gives it a postcard look. That being said, I'm giving this a 9.

I love how you managed to catch the night sky and star trails and still keep the mountain light and detailed...this is definately one of my favorite shots in the challenge.

I love the picture... the text could stand out a little better. A drop shadow or stroke might have helped it at the bottom. It gets a little lost in the shot.

Lovely photo but I think the placement and style of the text lets it down a little.
