Pity to see this entry so underrated (in my opinion). Someone mentioned the background not being inviting with the trash bin - I disagree. I think it's perfect since it adds to the story and gives a sense of where this occurs (love CAN be found anywhere, even in the back streets next to the trash cans) and it also balances the composition nicely. I think it's an incredible capture - Just not DPC friendly because there's no dramatic storm clouds or clean studio lit set ups. Beautiful candids like this unfortunately do get underrated on DPC.

Oh man, I thought it said "Free Drugs" - Doh! I was all set to head for Toronto. Looks like I'll have to book a flight to Amsterdam. ;-)

Heehee j/k. I don't do hugs-- I mean drugs. :)

Nice job. Underrated a bit, IMO.

This is just so cool. I know how hard it is to tell a story with a picture and have everything contribute and nothing distract. 10

Like the selective desat you used, adds alot of interest. So where exactly do you get these free hugs?

This is so funny. Anyone going to that dismal street would definitely need a hug.

What a heart warming picture - it made me smile. I love the story it tells. My guess is that you'll probably get some voters nitpicking the fact that the focus is soft, but personally I think it adds to the feel of the picture and gives it a sense of realism. Very nicely done also with the selective desaturation that highlights the subjects. I LOVE it. 10

A friend of mine is doing a free hugs campaign at our school. Love this capture.

This is a fun to look at photo. At first I wanted to say that the postcard text is too small, but it actually works better in an understated manner. The photo, while interesting, is a bit too grainy and blurry for me to be a strong image. Clever use of it though for this challenge. Hmmm. Good luck.

Although I don't think the photo is stellar - blurry, etc. - this is so creative that I've got to bump it up. 6.

Nice idea with the free hugs, but the background is not very inviting with the trash bin.
