The length of the stairway brings out the feeling of aloneness. I think it would have been stronger if she were up a couple of steps.

this is a very pleasing image, pensive subject fitting the challenge, slightly awkward placement of the feet and the red of the sneakers clashing with the red stairs (a crop of the top stair or two might have strengthened the image) 8

Good alone shot, but the flash is too harsh to me

nice idea, but the lighting is extremely harsh and takes away from it. a softer, less direct lighting would have been more effective.

A nice composition. There is a bit too much lighting difference between the subject and the background though.

The one thing that bothered me first about this pic is the hard flash shadow behind the girl. Such shadows always give a snapshot impression in my opinion. A different lighting set up or flash bounce may have reduced that shadow.
