Hey Anna, welcome to my once a month critique for the critique club. For some reason I always end up with your photos to critique :-)
The flower you chose for your subject is very interesting. We are so used to seeing perfectly fresh looking flower macros here, it isn't often you get to see a flower which is heading away from it's glamour phase. But why not? Where does it say in any rules that we always need flowers in full bloom?
The colors and tones are very pleasant to look at, the shallow DOF enhances the structure of your flower. The focus is good although it comes over a little on the soft side, probably resulting from a slight camera shake is my guess. Did you shoot this free hand or did you use a tripod?
The cropped out part of the flower on the left side of the image is something I would have changed however, it is quite noticeable and takes away from the quality of the photo.
Any help?

The flower is well past its prime, yet still visually interesting, and the interest is enhanced by desaturating the other colors in the image. Great composition, focus, and lighting. But I don't really get a feeling of loneliness or solitude. |

Beautiful image, I love the duotone. Would like a less tight crop so there's some breathing room on the left. Focus is marvelous, I like the lighting as well. I'm finding only a tenuous connection to a feeling of solitude or loneliness as outlined by the challenge, but it does meet generally. Lovely work. 7 |

Tonally beautiful, though I'm not convinced by your placing of the focal plane here - and I'm always distracted by this desaturation trick, which I have a personal loathing for. To genuinely communicate a feeling of solitude or loneliness ... I think you need a wider view, more context for the flower. |

very lovely tonal/light qualities, nicely composed - I don't know that it particularly says solitude or loneliness but maybe that is too picky 7 |

I really like the soft, pastel color of the flower. Nice composition and light. |
