 Skim Boarding is not easy! I was shooting these handheld while standing knee deep in the water. My goal that day was just to get some good surfing shots of my friend to put on his myspace :) but when he then decided to give skim boarding a try and I was able to capture and freeze some disaster shots...it was fun. As for post, I tried to make sure black was black and then began messing with different saturations and hues. The water in Newport Beach is not blue in the winter, in fact it is a brownish/gray if that makes sense...so I exaggerated the blue water quite a bit and then adjusted the hues to cool down the pic as well. Without the bluish filter effect, the pic appears washed out. I have had my DSLR for under 6 months and photoshop for the same amount of time so definitely learning...please bring on the constructive criticism.

The blue seems a bit unreal. Possibly oversaturated.

I like how you caught the surfer in the upper right. the cast feels a bit too blue to me

Meets the challenge very well. Great timing. Shame about the jpeg artefacts, especially around the splashes and above the head. At some point, this picture has been saved at too low quality.
