I had this idea the whole week, but I didn't find the time to shoot it untill tuesday. This came out even better then I expected. I love the expression on my face, so cold. Looks like a character of Lara Croft or something like that.
Huge thanks to the father of my brother-in-law, who's a farmer and borrowed me the scythe. First I wanted to use an axe, but this seemed more creepy to me.
Used fake blood on my shirt & hands, might be a bit too perfect, but oh well :P
I was lucky, because I set the timer with manual focus and didn't check the focus, but the blood was off of my hands and I smeared it over my shirt allready because otherwise it was dripping, so a reshoot would be a big problem..

Was this inspired by the Soul Calibur 3 character Zasalamel? I wouldn't have thought it at first except for your title. Let me know! :) Anyway, I'm back to bump up a few scores and I can't bump yours anymore so yeah. :-) I think this is just great.. so bold.. and it's staged obviously, but somehow (usually I don't like obviously staged shots) it just realy seems to work. I think with the lighting being so bold it sort of just all fits. Background is awesome as well as expression of the model. Great shot. |

You make it all look so clinical! :) Great composition, this is a dandy. Score: 2
Noooo, I'm kidding about the score. 8! :) |

Too freakin' cool! I like the lighting set-up, adds a bit of mystery. Glad a I wasn't a participant in the game. :) |

Technicals: The lighting bothers me somehow. I see you are going for contrasty with the face (and that's good), but somehow it doesn't jive with the very low contrast of the background. Maybe that's a small nitpick.
The Feel: The blood looks a bit on the "staged" side, but I do like the slightly androgynous feel of the model and outfit.
Score: 5 |
