It's sad, I live in one of the dirt capitals of the world. It is called New Mexico and there is not much here besides dirt. In fact the largest river we have is called the Rio Grande and it too looks like dirt most of the year. All that said, I could not find one interesting thing to photograph. So I went lunar and grabbed a nice shot of the moon and made it yellow, pretty lame right? Maybe so but it was the most interesting thing I could come up with. So bring on the 4.5.

I am glad everyone hated my photo, I expected as much. I got several comments about the "Cheese" reference. I don't know exactly where or when this was the case but people actually thought the moon was made of green cheese. Anyhow that is where the reference came from. I would like to thank the folks who thought it was funny and commented on it. Everyone else needs to find a sense of humor.

Now for something a little more serious. What the hell is up with the people that commented that the moon does not meet the "Dirt" part of the challenge. The moon is nothing but dirt and rocks.

Lol, please excuse the ignorance in my previous comment. I totally forgot the moon was dirt, therefore I didn't get it... But from your picture it looks more like cheese.

You can tell by the color that it's cheese!

'Tis quite a big stretch to fit the challenge. Maybe a quick pass of sharpness might help this photo. Also, try and desat for a different look.

I never thought of that. That's one big chunk of dirt alright.

I don't get the title, possibly a cultural thing?

It's amazing how many people don't think that the moon is dirt. I can't wait to read the other comments made to you...nothing bad but you'll see why I'm curious.

Nice image, but pushes the envelope for me as far as meeting the challenge is concerned. - 5

I say cheese! I'm no expert on Moon shots but this looks like a good one to me.

Moon shots all by themselves, no matter how zoomed, are usually a bit sterile and ultimately don't hold our attention that long. 5

Cheese!

Nice moon shot, so the question is if it is indeed cheese does it meet challenge? Then again it may be considered dirty cheese which would indeed meet challenge! I am so confused..... 6

It seems as though you've forced this to fit the challenge with the title, but I'm not sure it's paid off...

My first thought when seeing this was "shoehorned" but in all reality the tint on the moon really detracts from this shot.

ROFLMAO!!!!
