Is there a message in the cropped head? Perhaps that loss of individuality is what's really happening here? Good choice on the desat- graphically draws attention to the tatoos

I'd think either more or even less of the head would be better. Like that it looks cut off by accident, not intentionally.

Not sure about your choice of selective desat. I know what you were going for but it looks odd. Perhaps it you had only partially desated the rest?
