Lovely William Hopper-ish glow. Date? Medium? Size?

I saw this and even in the thumbnail I thought "New England". Is this Plymouth, Ma? This is a lovely painting.

Great perspective. What time of the day did you paint this no cars/no people
How long have you been painting for?
Sally

I started painting 6AM on Sat Sun mornings. It took a few weeks. Very few cars at this time of day there so I only had to not paint several. I̢۪ve been painting since I was a little boy, in the 50̢۪s. Runs in the family.

Wow! that's an awesome oil painting, Congratulations
I try from time to time to paint but this is beautiful with so much detail for oils
You have some nice clean colours and I don't think I would have noticed the power poles if they hadn't been mentioned but they do look a little odd I think you could have swopped them for street lights it would have given it a quaint look but hey you got first place so what do I know.

I have an extra reason to like it, since it reminds me of the look I gave the buildings in my Urban Landscape entry, except I can't paint hardly at all so I do it with camera and Photoshop.

I also found having the utility poles without wires a little odd at first, but after a few seconds it seemed to suit the mood of the piece fine. Congratulations!

Where's the Plymonth? I don't see any cars at all in it.

Seriously, if I were browsing an art show this is definitely one that would catch my eye and I'd spend some time looking at it. May I ask the dimensions of your painting?
