7 - Like it. Just wish it wasn't so tightly cropped on the left and the lighting adjusted to include the dog more. Perhaps a little wider may have given more impact, who knows. |

lighting focus seems to be more on the toy than on your dog ... |

To me, a portrait is about control--of the background, lighting and pose. Including a toy is fine, but the focus should still be on the pet. The light seems to be aimed at the toy making it seem more like the subject, and while I can see the dog's eyes, his ears are lost in the shadows. While the background is dark, I can still see it is a room in your house. |

Lighting/shadows are pretty harsh. That wrinkled muzzle is awfully cute, though! |
