Judging by the comments, some people are not familiar with the sticky nature of Portuguese Man-O-Wars. Anyone who has ever seen someone come screaming out of the surf with one stuck to his leg, will know that this fits the challenge perfectly. (If I do say so myself.) I can see, though, that the sticky nature of this creature was not well illustrated in this shot.

Excellent capture - love the colors! Even if someone weren't familiar with the PMOW - I think the fact that it looks like a blob of rainbow jelly kinda hints that it's sticky! I like the comp but you might have taken some hits from the knee-jerk-centered-subject-haters. Great find - and your processing is really bringing out the wow in all your photos lately. I'm glad because they are really wow-worthy :)

owchie-wa-wa I saw one of those in bermuda when I was 6. It was huge! You captured the color wonderfully. I can't imagine one stuck to my leg...I'd be so scared I'd pass out. Aren't they letal??

sticky and stings! Appropriate center composition for this excellent specimen rendering. Perfect sticky entry - a challenge fav for me.

while this is a very awesome looking creature I think you could have found a better composition. maybe shooting lower to the ground or maybe having this less off centered would work with the cool sea sticks in the corner :0) the colors are great!

DNMC to me and what I think the challenge means. I do, however, love the way you captured the irredesence and the colors. I'm giving it a 5, would of been higher if "I" thought it met challenge.
