 Construction paper taped in concentric circles over a lamp with a blue light bulb, shone at an angle on a sheet of white foam in a dark room. I like the contradictions of this, the simultaneous abstraction and sharp detail, the brightness and darkness. I don't really care if it does badly in the challenge. For a change.

I can't tell what this is, or where the shadows are, just a pleasant pattern of various shades of blue and black

interesting -but maybe too abstract - meaning its hard to tell if it is a photo or a digital image.
