 Converted from RAW in Capture NX. Initial adjustments to levels, curves, hue and saturation also in NX.
In PS Elements 5 adjustment to contrast & brightness. Desaturated via an adjustment layer then "painted" over the layer to reveal the "bun". Resized for submission in PS Elements 5.

nice concept ... I think that the bun is a bit too orange though

The concept is really good. You could have blended the roll into the back ground a little more to have avoiced the sharp edges. I'm not sure what the errant color mark is at the top of the paper. But the concept is really good, especially the color scheme selection.

Meets challenge, but image is oversaturated, I think. Also it doesn't really lend itself to aesthetic appeal.

the selective desat really is not working for me on this one- the bun looks unnatural.

I don't like the selective desat - it makes the bun look strange.

Although it is titled a sticky bun, I dont really see the sticky part of it. Usually the sticky part is the icing, but being that it isn't stuck to anything, I dont see how its sticky. Plus, being that this is an advanced editing challenge, you should have taken advantage of that and edited out the piece of bun on the tissue paper and the glare behind you on the right. Sorry!! I hope these help though for next time!

colors look funny on my monitor ... I don't think that the selective desat works well here ...
